from Uniontown, Ohio, USA.
Sue Spargo is a contemporary folk artist who loves to work with felt.
She makes quilts inspired by the culture, flora and fauna of the many countries all around the world in which she has lived or been privileged to visit.
These very different environments have stirred new design ideas and challenged her to develop new techniques while playing with fibres and threads.
I work primarily in hand dyed wool, layering my pieces with cottons, velvets and linens and then finally adding hand embroidery.
Her first technique book, Creative Stitching, was published in 2012 and has been followed by 13 other books to date. All Sue’s current designs are also available as patterns.
