Anita Grossman Solomon

Anita Grossman Solomon

from New York, USA

The renowned ‘make it simpler’ queen of the quilting world!

Anita is a full-time quilter, author and innovator behind three ‘Make It Simpler’ books from C&T Publishing and Cutting Lines patterns.
Anita’s quilts have been displayed everywhere from the ceiling of the International Quilt Festival in Houston to an enormous screen high above Times Square in New York City where she lives.

My “Why didn’t I think of that?” innovations make quilt-making faster and easier.

With her art background, Anita has in-depth knowledge of quilt history as well as its modern trajectory. Intrigued by the look of some of the most complex traditional blocks, she’s figured out easier ways to construct them. Anita encourages her students to create the blocks and quilts that best express who they are. Her favorite part of teaching is waiting for each student to have a ‘Eureka’ moment.

I make “artful” bed quilts from classic blocks using my signature non-traditional methods.

An international guest speaker and popular instructor, she has appeared three times on Alex Anderson’s shows, teaches for Craftsy, numerously, for both the American Quilter’s Society and the International Quilt Festival. Her favorite colors were bundled in a palette for Robert Kaufmann Fabric.

  • You like to make traditional bed quilts but hate waste and inefficiency?
